Victoria (Australia) is rich in natural resources and has a strong history of primary industry development. Agriculture, mining, petroleum, fishing and forestry are all primary industries. Department of Primary Industries (DPI) works with these industries so they generate wealth and employment, and also take their environmental and social responsibilities seriously.
DPI wanted their three In-house databases to be migrated from Sybase ASE 12.0 to Microsoft SQL Server 2005. The Sybase database had farmer details like properties, animals, diseases on animals etc. The database migration involved over 100 tables and number of rows varied from just a couple of rows to six million. DPI wanted a comprehensive solution that was fast and highly user friendly ensuring no loss/corruption of data absolutely.
