the release of its Portable SQL API, Vembu SwisSQL.NET. SwisSQL.NET
is a complete C# implementation of Vembu SwisSQL Java API,
which can automatically convert SQL queries from one database
dialect to another. This unique SQL conversion capability
allows developers to write their .NET application for one
database and seamlessly run it on any other database.
"With the C# implementation of SwisSQL, .NET application
developers especially Independent Software Vendors would benefit
immensely when they have to make their applications work with
multiple databases", said Sekar Vembu, CEO of Vembu Technologies.
"Also, when enterprises migrate their legacy ASP/COM application
from one database to another, they can embed the SwisSQL.NET
component avoiding the painful process of porting the SQL
queries embedded in the application", added Mr. Vembu.
Embedding the SwisSQL.NET library in .NET applications require
very minimal change to the application. SwisSQL.NET currently
supports SQL query syntax of Oracle, DB2, MS-SQL Server, Informix,
PostgresSQL and MySQL. Vembu also has released SwisSQL Console,
a GUI tool which allows developers and DBAs to type in an
SQL query and convert it to different database's syntax.
